Hey peeps!  So I know I am running a little behind on my KCFW runway show details from Wednesday, October 12th.  First and foremost, I would like to thank the fabulous, Teisha Barber; President of KC Fashion Week, for giving me the pleasure to sit front row on this spectacular event!  What an evening of high energy and high fashion.  This was Kansas City’s fifth annual (10th season) show.  An evening full of extreme talent started with Eltee by Laura Higgenbotham.  Laura’s philosophy is “Fashion is what you buy.  Style is how you wear it”.  Higgenbotham is a graduate of the London College of Fashion and a designer for the iconic brand, Lee Jeans.

The second designer to be grace the European catwalk (no raised platform) was Irina Tevzadze.  Tevzadze is an artist and designer from the country of Georgia.  Irina’s career in fine arts and fashion spans more than twenty years .  She has designed a very successful childrenswear collection and led the design and production of uniforms for a number of private schools.

The troisième designer is local, Lauren Victoria with Lauren Victoria Swim.  She has a passion for swimwear.  Her design aesthetic engages her audience by finding the harmony between whimsical and edgy.  She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia Missouri with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Fashion Design and Product Development.  Lauren collaborated with EarKandie! Paparazzi Inspired Jewelry on the runway.

AERONA by Morgan Mason was another designer who used her fashion creations on children.  AERONA is a brand in the making.  Morgan is a St. Louis based designer who is graduating in May from Lindenwold University with her BFA in Fashion Design.  She is currently creating dance costumes for studios across the nation.

One of my favorite collections of the evening belonged to Sheraz Pompey.  Sheraz is also S/S “17 recipient of the DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT.  The 22 year old Kansas City native’s training came from his fashion design class in high school.  He only took a half semester of design classes so he could learn the basics.  Everything after that he taught himself and researched the internet. Now that is dedication and passion at it’s finest.  Pompey was even part of a Macy’s Fashion Show.

Last but certainly not least we have, Munelle De Vie.  Munisa Khuramova, designer of Munelle De Vie, presented her first runway collection at this S/S ’17 fashion show.  The debut of her first collection marked the official start of her brand!  Munisa collaborated with Georgina Herrera for her debut.  The Munelle De Vie models were wearing Georgina’s jewelry, Mackech Jewelry.
