To quote the uber talented, Karl Lagerfeld, “black and white always looks modern, whatever that word means”.  I totally concur!  There is always something comforting about simple black and white.  They are modern, understated but at the same time assertive.  I for one have always been in favor of black and white movies, art and fashion.  Its just a “not in your face” classic elegant look.  For this shoot I wanted for my nieces and nephew to join me on my black and white journey.  In general I incorporate either color in my everyday life. Whether its in my clothing or home  decor.  You can do so much and always look tres chic.  You can throw in any color in the rainbow and make it work with these two non-primary colors.  I actually encourage the pop of color with black and white.  Its funny that people generally relate the color black to mourning, mystery and/or evil.  On the other hand the color white relates to purity, innocence and goodness.  When you combine both colors you have a happy medium (yin and yang)!
